Home is for body and soul.
To relax, to enjoy. To be nurtured.
To re-emerge in health and vitality

In the most highly developed civilizations of ancient times, architecture was considered to be an extension of the living earth and a replication of human form and biology. Celestial energies were also accounted for and architecturally designed into each structure as an integral part of the building's life force. Mother earth was considered sacred and treated as a conscious entity.

Ecological forestry was practiced. For instance, three new trees were planted for every one cut down. At least two of these seedlings were insured of survival, before the planned cutting would begin.

Energies were understood as vibrational frequencies. The vibrational frequencies of the land, and of each kind of material to be utilized, were compared to the natural resonance of a human being and only the most beneficial ones for the purpose desired were used in the construction.

Architecture in general represents the greatest human impact upon the natural environment. The production of many common building materials shifts the delicate balance of the eco-system in a multitude of ways, often destructive ones.

Concrete, asphalt, and sprawling building structures are often arbitrarily placed, usually with little regard for the intricate synergy of earth's natural environment. Seismic factors, negative magnetic grid lines, radon radiation, water quality, water accessibility, and other environmental considerations have not been adequately taken into account in most building and community planning. The earth's body is composed of sensitive nerve centers and energy conduits which are much like the nervous system, blood vessels, and capillaries of the human body. Vaastu works synergistically and simultaneously with the subtle intelligence of the earth, of the human being, and of the stars.

All aspects of the universe are present within every atom and the Vaastu building is designed as a complete and energized macro atom.

Synthetically manufactured materials add further confusion to our modern challenges of life. Synthetic plastics and vinyls induce static electrical charges within the indoor environment. These charges interact with air molecules to produce an imbalanced positive ionization in the oxygen content. This synthetically induced phenomena becomes another potent component in oxygen related diseases and augments the growing need for oxygen ionizers. Electric ionizers also contribute to imbalanced electrical fields, which in turn, affect both the air quality and the human nervous system.

Synthetic plastics and even other more natural materials, when used as domestic plumbing, are known to change the resonance and vitality of the water in various ways. Another consideration is that a counter clockwise rotation induced into the water flow influences its magnetic memory. Taken into the body, this water reverses the natural magnetic flow of the cells and may contribute to cell mutation and other unnatural cell development. A clockwise rotation of the flowing water induces the opposite effect: healthy cell growth.

Vaastu science pays close attention to the direction of underground water flows beneath a planned building site. Steel reinforcement carries and spreads negative electro-magnetic fields in health impacting ways.

Steel may also change certain biological geo-electromagnetic fields, creating varying degrees of stress and tension for biological life forms within the indoor environment.

Compressed wood products with formaldehyde glues, recycled plastics, synthetic rubber, etc. usually outgas into the indoor environment, and into the soil when in contact. Soil vitality, water quality, and human health are inevitably affected, with new and increasing symptoms appearing over time. Many of these toxins are the result of accumulated effects, and some may only reveal themselves after two or three generations. Vibrational toxins generate the same effects as biological toxins; often with increased potency. Vibrational balancing may the the most basic and potent of all healing tools.

Some recycled plastics last for a long time, and can usually not be recycled indefinitely. Chemicals added during the recycling process (especially PVCs) only increase the ultimate toxicity problem. Meanwhile all toxic and unstable (out gassing) plastic products will continue to affect human health and the environment in increasingly vital ways. These products should have no place in architecture, indoors or out. Some of the more stable synthetic plastic compounds are acceptable for specific purposes; while the vegetable silica and other biological and non-toxic plastic compounds are ideal for multiple uses.

While non-toxic and natural building materials are of inestimable value, Vaastu architecture reaches far beyond these factors, as well. This science aligns building design and construction with the principles of cosmic creation and the eternal pulse of universal life. Such a vibrant structure becomes a living, conscious, breathing entity, capable of interacting intelligently with its human co-creators and co-stewards of planet earth.

This kind of structure is both a ‘micro universe’ and a ‘macro atom.’ It contains all of the elements of life in action and interacts directly with the human DNA and the biological nervous system. It provides an informational conduit between body, soul, spirit and the stars. This interactive informational system is based upon the subtle vibrational communications of energy at all levels of being.

Biologically, our brain and nervous system function entirely by way of vibrational rhythms as wave lengths and frequencies. As, indeed, do all movements of matter and energy on a universal level.

Applying natural laws to architecture.

In Vaastu architecture, all aspects of design and construction are taken into account, including the terrestrial and celestial environments, the individuals involved, and the resonant qualities of all building materials utilized. These considerations are spelled out very briefly as follows:

1. Musical or sound resonance (manifested feeling patterns).

2. Mandala or universal energy grid. The direction and impact of energy flows involving terrestrial, biological, and celestial forces; and including the principles of implosion and explosion.

3. Light vibrations and color rays on both subtle and physical planes (manifested thought patterns).

4. Form; cube-pyramid-octagon-circle-hexagon (the dynamics of multi-dimensional physics). Through geometrical form, specific energy qualities and forces are emphasized (manifested light forms and sound forms).

5. Space-Time-measurements. These involve the inherent values and qualities of numbers, dimensions, frequencies, and time units (Time = Space). In traditional Vaastu science these are applied to human creations through physical measurements defined by ayaadi calculations.

Architecture that heals.

Vaastu building science promotes healing at all levels of society: the individual, the family, the community, the environment and global relationships.

Architecture has been called the "highest achievement of civilization.” This is a quote from the original founder of the Vaastu science, a scientist and architect from ancient India named Mayan.
